The best time to book your newborn session is during your second or third trimester. Reserving your due date early ensures a spot on my calendar and gives us plenty of time to plan the perfect session before baby arrives.

Once you're booked, you'll receive a detailed planning guide and questionnaire to help customize your session. From colors and styling to sibling preparation and what to expect, I'll guide you every step of the way so your experience feels effortless, personal, and uniquely yours.

2.  Secure Your Due Date & plan your session

Trust me—your little one will be here before you know it!

When you book, I reserve your due date on my calendar, ensuring availability once baby arrives. Then, we'll schedule your session during those precious first days of life. For classic posed newborn images, the ideal time is within 5–13 days after birth, when babies are sleepiest and naturally curled for those timeless newborn poses.

As your session approaches, simply revisit your Newborn Prep & Planning Guide and Session Day Checklist. Then all that's left to do is enjoy the newborn snuggles while I preserve these fleeting moments for your family.

3.  Your Little One Is Here! Let’s Pick a Date & Get Ready

Your baby is finally here, and today is about slowing down and preserving these first fleeting days.

With years of experience working with newborns, I gently guide each session with a calm, baby-led approach—safely posing, soothing, and wrapping your little one with expert care and attention to detail.

While I work, you can simply relax and soak it all in—the tiny fingers, soft breaths, and those first sweet family connections that deserve to be remembered forever.

4.  Session Day

Within 3-5 business days of your session, you’ll receive an emailed Proof Gallery of lightly edited images, allowing you to select your favorites before I complete the final professional edits.

Your fully edited Final Gallery will be ready within 7-10 business days, bringing your baby’s first moments to life in a timeless way.

If you’ve ordered prints, albums, or custom artwork, these will be delivered within 30 days, ensuring you have beautiful keepsakes to cherish for a lifetime.

Most FREQUENTLY asked 

When should I schedule my Newborn session?

Newborn sessions are best conducted during the 6-13th day age range. Since it can be a big adjustment coming home with your new little love I recommend scheduling your session during your late second trimester.  This guarantees you a spot in my calendar for when baby arrives and gives us time to plan you ideal session.

What if my baby arrives early or late?

No worries at all—babies rarely arrive right on schedule, and I build flexibility into my calendar for that reason. Once your baby is here, just reach out and we’ll pick a session date that works best.

For posed studio sessions, we’ll aim for when baby is 6–13 days old, while they’re still sleepy and curled up. For wrapped studio or lifestyle sessions, babies can be up to 31 days old—so there’s plenty of flexibility.

Do you retouch the images?

Yes, absolutely. Every final image you receive is carefully hand-edited with a soft, natural touch. I gently smooth out things like baby acne, flaky skin, or little scratches—while still keeping your baby looking like your baby. The goal is to enhance, not overly edit. I want your gallery to feel polished, timeless, and true to this sweet, fleeting season of life.

What should I bring to my session?

Other than your precious little love, a paci, diapers, wipes, and a way to keep your little one’s belly full, that is all we need. My studio is well stocked and I have everything else we need to craft the perfect session for your sweet baby!

Where areas do you serve? Where is your studio?

I service the greater Charlotte area and have a studio located in the Waxhaw area.

What if my baby is fussy or won’t sleep during the session?

Totally normal, and nothing to worry about. We aim to photograph babies in those early sleepy days, but if your little one is awake and content, that’s perfectly okay too. I follow baby’s lead, take breaks as needed, and use plenty of gentle tricks to help them settle. I’m a bit of a swaddle pro, and that usually does the trick to help them relax or doze off. Sessions are calm, baby-led, and never rushed.

Do you provide props, outfits, and wraps for the session?

Absolutely! I have a fully stocked Charlotte-area studio filled with newborn-sized props, wraps, outfits, headbands, and all the little extras to make your session beautiful and comfortable. You really only need to bring your baby and a diaper bag.

For lifestyle sessions, I always bring at least one fully newborn-sized setup, including wraps and accessories, so we can capture those gorgeous, wrapped baby-only images even in a relaxed, natural setting.

Can parents and siblings be included in the session?

Absolutely! I love including parents and siblings—it’s such an important part of the story. Three of my four newborn packages, including both of my main collections and the lifestyle session, offer the option to capture beautiful family and sibling portraits. When you work with me, you’ll get to customize your session so we focus on the images that matter most to you, preserving this special season with connection, love, and intention.

When will I receive my images?

All proof galleries are delivered within 3-5 business days. You will have 5 days to select the images you want edited for your session. Once you have chosen your final gallery images, your final gallery will be delivered within 7-10 business days.
