As a Charlotte senior photographer, one of my absolute favorite parts of this job is watching best friends come alive during a Senior Portrait Bestie Session. Senior year is full of once-in-a-lifetime moments—from your final first day of high school to those exciting college acceptance letters—and everything starts to feel real really fast.

And while yes, senior portraits are about celebrating you, they’re also about something just as meaningful: the people who’ve walked this journey by your side.

That’s where a Senior Portrait Bestie Session comes in.

Here are 5 Fabulous Reasons To Book A Senior Portrait Bestie Session:

Whether you’ve been besties since kindergarten or bonded over AP study nights and iced coffee runs, your friendship is a huge part of your story. And honestly? Getting to see seniors laugh, cut loose, and just enjoy being together in front of the camera is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. It’s fun, it’s genuine, and the joy is so real—and it always shows up in the photos.

So if you’re thinking about doing a session with your ride-or-die, here are five reasons why I absolutely love photographing best friends during senior year… and why I truly think you’ll never regret making it part of your senior experience.

Your Friendship Deserves to Be Celebrated With A Senior Portrait Bestie Session!

Let’s be real—your bestie isn’t just your friend. They’re your go-to for everything: life talks, coffee runs, spontaneous Target trips, and hype texts before big exams or dates. These are the people who’ve watched you go through things and stood by you!  You’ve been through so much together, and senior year is the perfect time to press pause and celebrate.

A best friend photo session is about capturing that once-in-a-lifetime connection before life starts to shift.  As summer hits, vacations and planning begins so taking the time during those final few weeks or days before or after graduation are ideal for moments like these. Before you’re packing up dorm stuff and setting off in different directions.

📸 What we capture: hugs, laughs, shared memories, and all the little quirks that make your friendship totally unique.

Built-In Support (Whether It’s Your Twin or Your Day-One Childhood Bestie)

Let’s be honest—being in front of the camera can feel a little intimidating at first. But when your best friend is right there with you? Everything feels more relaxed, more natural… and way more you.

Whether you’ve got a childhood bestie who’s been by your side forever or you’re lucky enough to share senior year with your twin, let’s make it happen! A two-person session is the perfect way to combine your experience—so you each get your own individual portraits and a handful of fun, memory-filled bestie shots together.

👯‍♀️ Want to book back-to-back senior sessions with a shared location and a little overlap? I’m happy to help plan a flow that gives you the best of both worlds—solo time to shine, and moments together you’ll never forget.

Planning Your Senior Portrait Bestie Session Is Half the Fun!

Let’s be real—who doesn’t love a good excuse to dress up with their bestie? When you bring a friend into your senior session, the experience becomes way more than just taking photos—it becomes a full-on celebration of your friendship.

One of the best parts? Planning it all together.
You get to collaborate on outfits, pick out a location that actually means something to you both, and dream up a session that feels like you. Maybe it’s a coffee shop you always hit after class, the park where you’ve spent a million afternoons hanging out, or even just a cute open field or rooftop view to die for where you can laugh and twirl in coordinating dresses.

Still not sure where to start? Just think about what you love to do together. That’s always a perfect launching point.

Want to base your session on your outfits?  Keep it simple and stylish!

  • Matching denim looks
  • Cozy sweaters and boots
  • Glam dresses at golden hour (yes—break out that HOCO dress one more time!)
  • Cap & gown with custom touches like letterman jackets or college flags
  • Or something totally outside the box like a picnic, roller skates, or boho flower crowns

And don’t forget the “getting ready” part of the day—cranking up the music, doing your hair together, swapping accessories. It all adds to the excitement and memory-making.

I absolutely LOVE hearing your outfit ideas and helping you find the perfect location to match. Whether you’re going for fun, glam, sentimental, or a mix of all three—I’ll help guide the vibe so everything looks polished, playful, and true to your story.

Your Senior Portrait Bestie Session Becomes A Core Memory

Yes, you’ll get gorgeous images. But honestly? Some of my favorite moments happen in between the shots.

The inside jokes.
The way you look at each other when one of you says something ridiculous or sweetly sentimental.
The quick witted banter and inside jokes said – and only those who truly know will “get it”!!

We make your session feel like a little adventure—something you’ll look back on years from now and say, “Remember when we did that? That was SO fun.”

🌸 Want to bring flowers, wear your college gear, pop your pennants up to show your next adventures, or maybe you want to plan something totally “you”? YES PLEASE.

You’ll Treasure These Photos More Than You Realize

Senior year flies by so much faster than you can imagine. After graduation, things change—sometimes fast. Some friends have family travel plans over the summer.  College calendars vary and some start earlier than others-especially if one member of your group is rushing!  You might go to the same college or move across the country from one another. Family’s may move and change your home base.  The truth is, life pulls you in different directions, and that’s all part of the journey.

The one amazing thing about photos is they have this amazing way of freezing time.
They capture who you were in this moment—best friends at the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

Someday, when you’re older and flipping through your keepsake box or scrolling through old albums, you’ll see these images and feel everything all over again. The joy, the closeness, the unspoken bond.

📷 Trust me: future you will thank you.
